You've either stumbled upon this message or I straight-up sent you this link (lol). My birthday this year is about supporting folks I believe in. I sent $50 to each organization linked below. Please, choose one of the following ways to donate and send the screenshot as my gift! Our collective impact would make me smile with both dimples.
1) NoirUnited International helps get Black folks out of Ukraine
The Russian invasion of the Ukraine is a human rights disaster, displacing 4,059,105 as of today. Atlanta-based non-profit, NoirUnited International, partnered with the Global Black Coalition to help the Black-Ukrainian community. They are trying to raise $200K towards making sure Black families and students receive humanitarian aid and the resources needed to leave the country.
Instructions: Visit this GoFundMe site for the Global Black Coalition's efforts. If there's a note option, write "Hazel's Gift"!
2) Supporting Doulas from Coast to Coast
We just passed World Doula Week, today starts Black Maternal Health Week, and we're looking forward to Mothers' Day! Every week of the year, I am in support of women and femmes who stand up for birthing people. These three links are to support doula collectives on the East Coast, Gulf Coast and West Coast! Spread the love.
Instructions: Visit these donation pages for Momma's Village in Fayetteville, SistaMidwife Productions in New Orleans, or Roots of Labor Birth Collective in the Bay Area. If there's a note option, write "Hazel's Gift"!
3) Anarcha, Lucy, & Betsey in Remembrance
The More Up Campus in Montgomery, Alabama, blew my mind. Read about my experience meeting the lead creator of this monument and grounding space honoring the mothers of gynecology. There is a long term capital campaign to plan to develop the campus. Every donation goes toward the vision of this healing gathering place, for all.

Lagniappe
My favorite teacher, Mrs. Patricia "Patty" Lancaster passed away last month. She fought cancer like a warrior, until she couldn't. She did not want a service, nor flowers.
Instructions: In her words, I ask
"that you contribute to the campaign of a Democrat --- any Democrat at any level."
